Allegheny Uprising is the 1939 Western loosely based on the 1760 Black Boys Rebellion. Adventurer John Smith (John Wayne) is a man living in colonial Pennsylvania, who is sick and tired of living under British rule. After many Americans are murdered by Indians who are armed with weapons, Smith pressures officials to make it illegal for traders to do business with the Indians. This does not set well with trader Ralph Callender (Brian Dunleavy), who is concerned that his inability to trade will lower his profits. When the British hierarchy fail to intervene in the trading, Smith, and his girlfriend Janie McDougall (Claire Trevor) and other townspeople intercept gun shipments. Callender complains to the British Captain Swanson (George Sanders), who attempts to guard the wagon train filled with guns. The fact that neither side will relent, results in a revolt between Smith and his men and the British army. The feud puts Smith and Swanson on course for the ultimate showdown.MORE[EDIT]
