After the Thin Man

After the Thin Man is a 1936 comedic crime mystery directed by W.S. Van Dyke. In the film Nick (William Powell) and Nora Charles (Myrna Loy) have just arrived to their San Francisco home after a New York vacation. As soon as they arrive they are summoned to the home of Nora's Aunt Katherine (Jessie Ralph). Aunt Katherine despises Nick and thinks Nora is too good for him. She never approved of their marriage or Nick's previous investigator career. Due to her disapproval, Nick and Nora are suspicious of Katherine's request. As soon as they arrive their aunt's true intentions become clear. Nora's cousin, Thelma Landis (Elissa Landi), is married to a scumbag, Robert (Alan Marshall), and he has gone missing, Aunt Katherine was hoping Nick could use his skills as an investigator to find Robert.
