Addams Family Values

Addams Family Values is a 1993 family fantasy comedy by director Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Anjelica Huston, Raul Julia, Christopher Lloyd, Joan Cusack, Christina Ricci, Carol Kane, Jimmy Workman, and Carol Struycken in this darkly humorous sequel to the laugh out loud original 1991 film, The Addams Family. The gruesome, Gothic Addams family is back - creepy parental love scenes, disturbing sibling rivalry moments, and just plain strange mannerisms, and all - in Addams Family Values. This time, Morticia Addams (Anjelica Huston) has just given birth to the newest member of the Addams family: Pubert Addams (Kaitlyn Hooper). But despite the grim nursery they have planned for the child, Pubert is positively rosy! With rosy red cheeks, a tinkling laugh, and all the cheery sweetness that does NOT belong in the Addams family dynamic, Pubert has the power to turn this unshockable family upside down. They cannot allow Pubert to tear the family apart, so they plan how to make things right again. Their plan involves hiring a nanny, which, at first, turns out to be quite challenging. But when the blond Debbie Jellinsky (Joan Cusack) shows up and seems to fit the bill for the job perfectly, the Addams family parents are glad. Guess who is even happier? The wealthy, but lonely, Uncle Fester Addams (Christopher Lloyd), immediately takes a liking to the feisty Debbie and takes her home with him, to spoil her and make her his wife. What he does not know, however, is that landing him has been her plan all along. Debbie is a wanted serial killer with a long string of wealthy pursuers filling her skeleton-packed closet. Will Uncle Fester be the next? Has the Addams family finally found their match in Debbie and their undoing in Pubert? Addams Family Values opened to great critical acclaim, earning nominations for a 1994 Oscar, six 1994 Saturn Awards, a 1994 BAFTA Film Award, a 1994 Golden Globe, and a 1994 Hugo Award, in addition to winning a 1994 Saturn Award, a 1994 ALFS Award, and a 1994 Razzie Award.
