Adam and Eve Still (Mexico: Adan y Eva Todavia) is a drama film by the Latin American award-winning director Ivan Avila Duenas, which portrays the life of Adam (Junio Paulino) and Eve (Diana Lein) living alive and well in Mexico after being expelled from paradise. The couple is still together and has rented a nice studio apartment in Mexico City. The film goes on to tell the story of one of the worlds oldest relationships. Adam and Eve were not satisfied in only eating the forbidden fruit that caused the wrath of God but also ate from the Tree of Life in which they both become immortal, surviving across the entire Old and New Testament and into today's modern society. Adam and Eve today are both inventive and humorous and dress like they have just stepped straight out of club or rave party. As one might expect, immortality is always a curse to those who have it. Duenas explores this curse by showing the couple tired, bored and without having any enthusiasm as the centuries passed. They spend their days confined in their apartment in utter silence. Their depressive mood is only broken by the intense sex life of the duo, participating in many wild experiences. Adam ponders homosexual ideas and Eve considers a career as a prostitute. Duenas also wrote the screenplay, using the biblical characters with a certain irony, as Adam and Eve were the first married couple forced to face the difficult options that most married couples face today. Adam, it seems, became the metrosexual in history. The film does not take the viewer to any firm conclusions and this film has no humor or drama but rather is more experimental than an actual dogma.MORE[EDIT]
