A Plumm Summer is a coming of age story loosely based on the 1968 real-life kidnapping of marionette Froggy Doo in Billings, Montana. The film focuses on brothers Elliott (Chris Massoglia) and Rocky (Owen Pearce) Plumm, two long-time watchers of Happy Herb and Froggy Doo who have a turbulent home life. Their alcoholic father Mick (William Baldwin) is unable to hold down a job, and their mother Roxie (Lisa Guerrero) must act as the sole breadwinner for their household. Though Roxie is a caring mother, her job and her husband's alcoholism often keep her away from her children.
