A Mother's Prayer

A Mother's Prayer follows Brenda (Robin Givens) as she watches her family being torn apart by their individual struggles. Father James (Johnny Gill) is pushing everyone away with his overbearing attitude and he feels disconnected from the everyday lives of his family while the kids are trying to grow up too fast. It takes the diagnosis of a terminal illness for the family to set aside their individual struggles and pull together. Through their mother's love, the family learns to look to a higher entity for strength and courage and discovers the power prayer can have in their lives. The inspirational film was written by Alvin Moore Jr., who also appears in a small role in the film. The drama includes some comedic moments and several songs, with former R&B hit artists Johnny Gill and Shirley Murdock drawing on their singing talents.
