A Home of Our Own is a 1993 American dramatic film starring Kathy Bates in the story of a mother and her six children as they establish a life in Hankston, Idaho in 1962. When Frances Lacey (Bates) is fired from her factory job after she punches a fellow employee that groped her, she decides that Los Angeles is not a healthy place to raise a family. Frances and her six children pack up all of their possessions and get in the car. With little idea as to where they're going, Frances merely says that she'll know it when she gets there. Eventually the Lacey family lands in Hankston, and purchases a half-built house from Mr. Munimura.
