21 Hours at Munich is a television movie from 1976 based on the real events that occurred at the 1972 Olympic events in Munich. During the 1972 Olympic games held in West Germany, a group of Palestinian terrorists led by Issa (Franco Nero), invade a dormitory housing Israeli athletes. The terrorists murder two of the athletes and then kidnap nine of them. They demand the release of more than 250 prisoners being held in Israel. Israel's Prime Minister, Golda Meir (Else Quecke), refuses to deal with the terrorists or bend to any demands. German Chief of Police, Manfred Schreiber (William Holden), becomes the man who has to negotiate with the terrorists for the release of the athletes during the 21 hour stand-off.
