At the top of the list of shows we’re looking forward to this year, it’s Shameless, starring William H. Macy (love that man) and Emma Rossum.
Though we’re sure you’ve been keeping tabs on all the hype (who’s not excited for this one?) the brief rundown on the story is that it centers around a dysfunctional father (Macy) and his six extraordinary kids who have learned to adapt to their parental void in six very different ways. Everything about this show looks awesome, from the performances to the production style to the mere fact that the premise lends itself to endless plot lines and entertaining avenues. The best part? You don’t have to be a Showtime subscriber to watch the pilot episode.
It all starts this Sunday, January 9th at 10pm ET. Showtime will not only air the pilot on TV, but the network will hit the button that turns following preview into the full-fledged episode, so you’ll be able to watch it in its entirety, for free, online.
As IF it couldn’t get any better, the episode will be uncensored. What you see on Showtime is what you’ll get online. And if you’re living on the West Coast, you’ll have an even sweeter deal, because 10pm ET = 7pm PT. Do the math and you’ll see that it means you’ll have access to the premiere before it even airs on Showtime in your time zone. Huzzah!
Showtime has always been great at releasing their premieres online, so it doesn’t stop at Shameless.
At 7pm PT/10pm ET on Sunday night the network will also post the premiere episodes of it’s hit show Californication as well as the network’s other promising new series, Episodes, starring Matt LeBlanc. (Remember, from Friends?) Though the episode embeds are currently playing preview trailers, Showtime assures us that those trailers will morph into full episodes Cinderella-style, as soon as the clock strikes 10pm ET.
Looks like your Sunday night just got packed with three more hours of quality online programming. Don’t thank us, thank Showtime.
