Gorillaz fans: find the nearest outlet, plug in your computer, and take a seat.
Because in approximately half an hour (5pm PT / 8pm ET), the Gorillaz will be performing LIVE on Letterman’s webcast, Live On Letterman to promote their latest album, Plastic Beach.
When the Gorillaz first landed on my radar way back in 2000 I was fascinated by the concept that a band comprised of fictional cartoon characters could play a live show. I figured it would either be intensely epic or thoroughly disappointing. As it turns out, and how could I have ever doubted it, it’s epic. The Gorillaz are notorious for putting on an incredible show, so I’m kind of beside myself that I’m finally going to have a chance to experience it firsthand at the end of this month. In the meantime, Live On Letterman serves as the perfect fix. I’m curious to see how the band’s performance on Letterman’s stage differs from their vibe on tour. All the more reason to wire in and check it out tonight!
