I don’t think I’m going out on a limb here when I say that as much as I love Summer, I kind of wish it would hang back a few more weeks, or.. months.. to give me more time to get my workout on. I mean, listen, I’m standing in three weddings this Summer. That’s not okay.
Unfortunately, time won’t stop for the sake of my vanity. So I’m forced to utter the intolerable, “there’s no time like the present!” motivational jargon and drag myself to the gym. Or, even better, to my computer screen, because Clicker has a plethora of fitness videos available for free!
In fact, we have so many fitness videos available on Clicker that I actually struggled to choose which ones to highlight. I managed, though, and decided to break up my Clicker-generated workouts into a weekly schedule and thought you might find it helpful, too!
So, you’re welcome!
Monday (Cardio + Abs): Recovering from the weekend, I’ll go for a run around my neighborhood, and come back to an awesome 10-minute Ab workout by Exercise TV called Pilates Abs. The pacing is perfect for a post-run workout because it feels more like a cool-down than an intense drill and it focuses on maintaining proper form, which is crucial because you’re more likely to break your form when your body is tired.
Tuesday (Upper Body): Because many free exercise videos are short how-tos, I’ve combined three different videos to give you a solid 25-minute workout that is sure to help you tone your upper body. You only have to do it once a week so give it your all!
1. Start with Spark People‘s Cheap, Portable Resistance Band Workout
(all you need is a resistance band!)
2. Follow that up with Gilad Arms Workout from National Body Challenge.
(some light weights will work for this)
3. Finish it off with that off with a 9-minute killer yoga-based shoulder workout brought to you by Yoga with Les. (don’t be fooled by it’s calm demeanor, this one is intense.)
Wednesday: Rest! … It’s hump-day, after all, but if you want to start your day off with an extra boost of energy, try the 5-minute Instant Energizing Workout from Self Fitness. It’s the perfect pick-me-up to get you through the rest of that grueling work week.
Thursday (Cardio + Abs): The clearly marketable Envy Girls’ Abs of Envy workout from the same producers who brought you Carmen Electra’s Aerobic Striptease (shocker!) focuses on your abs, but also packs a cardiovascular punch when you stick with it the whole way through. If you can ignore the overtly sexual tonality of the whole thing, you’re sure to benefit. Stop ogling and start feeling that burn!
Friday (Lower Body): Anna Lovelock’s Ski Fit Workout from ThinQ Fitness is a 25-minute workout that focuses on your lower half. Why wait until you hit the slopes? This is an excellent workout and the perfect way to get yourself warmed up for your Friday night festivities! I get especially excited when I find a long-form workout video that’s free, so appreciate this find!
Saturday (Cardio + Abs): It’s Saturday! Go outside and get your run on! When you get back, try Weight Loss Yoga For Beginners from Tara Stiles. It’s only 9 minutes long, and it’s the perfect way to strengthen your core while stretching out your muscles and increasing your flexibility.
Sunday: Rest! You deserve a day off. Back to the grind tomorrow. Keep up the good work!
Let us know how it goes!
