As most of us have already heard, actor Len Lesser passed last night at age 88. Because he was most loved for his role as “Uncle Leo” in Seinfeld, we felt it would be most appropriate to honor his memory by revisiting one of our favorite episodes wherein Uncle Leo graces us with his presence (and that also just so happens to be free online).
The Wife:
In an attempt to get a discount on dry cleaning, Jerry and his girlfriend pretend to be husband and wife. (Courtney Cox guest stars in this one, too, so it’s a double win!)
Other notable episodes featuring Uncle Leo:
The Doodle:
George develops a school boy crush on an artist who sketches him in the likeness of Mr. Magoo and Jerry is forced to vacate his apartment when he discovers that it’s infested with fleas.
The Ticket:
George and Jerry are delighted to hear that NBC is interested in their pilot for a “show about nothing.” On the way to their big meeting, the two are intercepted by Jerry’s uncle. Meanwhile, Kramer behaves oddly after getting hit in the head and Newman uses him to get out of a ticket.
The Package:
Elaine goes postal after visiting her doctor’s office, stumbling upon her medical files, and noticing that she has been flagged a particularly ‘difficult’ patient.
The Pen:
Jerry and Elaine head to Florida because Jerry is performing at a retirement banquet for his father. Elaine throws her back out, while Jerry has a difficult time getting along his neighbor’s friend after a strange exchange regarding a pen that can write upside down.
The Shower Head:
Jerry’s apartment building gets new shower heads installed, but they are “low-flow” heads, which causes Jerry, Kramer, and Newman a lot of grief. George tries to convince his parents to move to Florida and Jerry tries to convince his Uncle Leo to break up with his lady-friend.
