It was on the air for five years. It’s been off the air for seven. Tonight, the future finally returns as Futurama launches its sixth season premiere on Comedy Central at 10pm EST/PCT.
Amazing, right?! Yes! But it’s been seven years since this series aired in sequential order, so unless you’re such a fanboy that you’ve been marathoning the show’s first five seasons since it disappeared, you could probably use a quick recap of everything that went down in the future between the years 1999 and 2003. Thankfully for you, we wouldn’t be bringing this up if Comedy Central hadn’t already thought this through:
In the hours before Futurama’s triumphant 6th season return (and as we cross our fingers that they release free episodes of the show online) we urge you to prep yourselves with a 7-minute video that will explain everything Futurama. So whether you were a big fan (we’re looking at you, Al Gore) or you’re hoping to start from scratch, you’ll be ready to jump right back into the future the moment Fry, Leela, and Bender start arguing with each other on your television screen tonight.
