Clicker’s Halloween Roundup

When October first started, we made some predictions about what costumes we would see most on Halloween weekend 2010.  We wanted to know how right we were, so we decided to do a little investigating of our own while we were out celebrating the holiday.  See how your favorite costumes fared on the spookiest holiday of the year.

Although the Mad Men cast, the Jersey Shore crew, the Avatar characters and Lady Gaga were all heavily represented on Halloween (as expected), looks like Sexy Anything won out yet again. No surprises there.  One costume we all saw a lot of this year that we didn’t predict was Katy Perry.  I guess those girls thought choosing the other female singer with crazy outfits would make them more original.  They thought wrong.

Antoine Dodson dominated the Halloween scene this past weekend, catapulting what we thought was a good idea into predictable territory.  To our surprise, we even saw a lot of Tron costumes. I guess we’re allowed to make mistakes every once in a while.  We did see some amazing costumes that we didn’t consider earlier last month.  Ms. Pacman, The Baseball Furies from The Warriors, Dr. Freeze, Trick ‘r Treat’s Sam, and Nanny’s legs from Muppet Babies all surprised us on Halloween weekend. What originality!

It’s no fair to judge other people if we don’t put ourselves out there, too!  So what did the Clicker gang dress up as on Halloween night?  We had a Troll with a mullet, some Party Down caterers, an M&M, Breaking Bad’s Walter White, and even a Jesus.

(From upper-left to bottom-right: Roxy Richter from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Ziggy Stardust and the Terminator, Henry Spencer from Eraserhead, a variation on the Storm Trooper, the Green Man, The World’s Number 1 Jar Jar Binks Fan, an adorable Leia and Luke, and April O’Neil from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Now that October 31st has come and gone, we’ve got next year to look forward to, likely with more Gagas, more sexy outfits, and more Mad Men.  At least the hoards of predictable costumes allow us imaginative ones to stand out! Got any creative costume stories or predictable ideas that we missed out on?  Let us know in the comments and let’s start brainstorming for next year!
